This role bridges the gap between functional business requirements and technical execution while maintaining absolute ownership of the project's commercial health. The ideal candidate will possess deep functional knowledge of core SAP ERP / S/4HANA ecosystems and demonstrate expert-level capability in structured estimation models, resource forecasting, and financial tracking using precise effort metrics (Man-Weeks, Man-Days, Man-Hours) and INR-based cost management. Key Responsibilities 1. Project Delivery & Functional Governance • Lead end-to-end SAP implementation, upgrade, and migration projects (including SAP S/4HANA, core ERP, and SAP BTP initiatives) from blueprinting through to hypercare. • Manage functional workstreams (FICO, MM, SD, PP, EWM, etc.), ensuring cross-module integration and alignment with business processes. • Act as the primary interface between business stakeholders, functional consultants, and technical teams to translate business requirements into scalable SAP solutions. • Define project scope, deliverables, and success criteria in alignment with SAP Activate or ASAP methodologies. 2. Effort Estimation & Resource Management • Build comprehensive bottom-up and top-down estimation models for complex change requests (CRs) and full-scale implementations. • Calculate, allocate, and track project effort using granular metrics, maintaining clear mappings across Total Man-Weeks, Total Man-Days, and Man-Hours. • Forecast capacity requirements and optimize resource utilization across functional and technical tracks to prevent project overruns. • Convert effort baselines into formal resource plans, establishing clear definitions for Man-Months dedicated to specific project phases. 3. Financial & Commercial Control • Own the project budget and financial profit-and-loss (P&L) statements, ensuring all activities align with the approved Total Cost (INR). • Manage complex multi-tier pricing matrices, establishing and tracking project expenses against standard Hourly Rates, Daily Rates, and Man-Month Rates. • Monitor actuals versus estimates continuously; perform variance analysis on consumed man-hours to prevent scope creep and manage financial leakage. • Oversee vendor billings, subcontractor statements of work (SOWs), and client invoicing based on milestone completions or Time & Material (T&M) burn rates. 4. Stakeholder Management & Risk Mitigation • Proactively identify, track, and mitigate functional, technical, and financial risks across the project lifecycle. • Provide regular, data-driven status reports to executive leadership, utilizing precise resource and financial metrics to demonstrate progress against budgets. • Manage change control boards, ensuring any shift in functional scope is immediately quantified in terms of additional man-days and impact on the total INR cost. Required Skills & Qualifications • SAP Expertise: Proven track record of delivering complex SAP ERP or S/4HANA projects. Solid understanding of SAP integration architectures, data migration strategies, and functional module interdependencies. • Commercial Acumen: Exceptional proficiency in project financial management, budget creation, and commercial tracking (handling Indian Rupee/INR project ledgers). • Estimation Techniques: Mastery in calculating resource effort metrics (Man-Hours, Man-Days, Man-Weeks, Man-Months) and mapping them against corresponding Hourly, Daily, and Monthly billing rates. • Methodologies: Deep familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and SAP Activate methodologies. • Tools: Expert knowledge of Project Management tools (MS Project, Jira, Azure DevOps) and advanced financial modeling in MS Excel. • Soft Skills: Strong leadership, negotiation, and conflict-resolution capabilities with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Certifications • PMP (Project Management Professional) or PRINCE2 certification. • SAP S/4HANA Functional or Project Management certification. • Agile/Scrum Master certification
